Re: Giving a Try with portraits
Yes to all.
I posted the tentative sprites here: viewtopic.php?p=688865#p688865. I'm still working on them, but can adjust as needed.

Re: Giving a Try with portraits
It's a good sketch and good reference for character design. I do want to point out that we only accept digital art into the game though. As for Mari's character sheet, I think the expression is good. Armor is good too, perhaps making it a bit weird might make her more memorable? She doesn't have sho...

Re: The South Guard (Revised)
Not getting caught on minor details also doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to make it more logically consistent. I think you also haven't gotten my point that the majority of the interactions are optional. I also don't think people see that a lot of the exposition that was originally said by the narr...

Re: The South Guard (Revised)
I don't really like explaining everything to everyone as it will bias people and takes a whole bunch of time, but seems like it's necessary. I will do it this once because there are a lot of issues that I do not think have been considered. S02, Westin Town: similar to the current revision's implemen...

Re: The South Guard (Revised)
New patch: - Added Minister Hylas back (non-hero) - Sir Gerrick has more lines (still non-hero) - M'brin changed to lich unit Incomplete: - Increase lines for Hylas and Gerrick without assuming they may be alive - Old TSG had code for this that I can use - Was an issue in old TSG in later scenarios ...

Re: The South Guard (Revised)
Okay based on your feedback I'm adding Gerrick back as a loyal hero unit and giving him his dialogue back (had to remove it before because he potentially could have died). Is M'brin's sprite that bad? I didn't draw it but can get the artist to get feedback. Or I can just revert it to lich if there's...

Re: The South Guard (Revised)
I made an update changing Asheviere's dialogue and also giving Deoran some more text. Also addressed some of pent's feedback, still need to work more on the first cutscene and S1.

Re: The South Guard (Revised)
You misunderstood, please go back and reread the text, she is not married at the end of the campaign. I'm still probably going to change it though, I also kinda felt the last scene was a bit much.

Re: The South Guard (Revised)
octalot, I agree with a lot of what you said, but those were also issues with the original tutorial, which I word for word copied the text over from, for example the orbs and ellipses, click on (unit name), and not explaining keep vs. castle hexes. On things like opening with exposition, that is sim...

Re: The South Guard (Revised)
I wonder if I can kill the enemy leader in S1 without killing anyone else. What would happen then? I have to try it. Yes, I think it should be multiplied by 4-5. Also if you want, I can bring in a completely newbie and make him go through this campaign I would appreciate this, but I would like to s...

Re: The South Guard (Revised)
Hi Lexa, thank you for the feedback. I will work to address some of the items. Some like the bandit in S1 are by design to basically force the event to always trigger. Others I will continue to patch - there will be at least 1 if not more dialogue patches later on. Thank you for incorporating the pl...

The South Guard (Revised)
In relation to this: https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?t=58149, this is a draft of a revision for The South Guard to prepare for The Deceiver's Gambit being added to mainline (also still in draft stage). Looking specifically for less experienced players to test the easier difficulties and see...

Re: Call for mainline portraits and story art
I know we are cutting Minister Hylas from TSG, but wouldn't it be a better use of resources to have Minister Hylas take on the role of 'Captain Mari' rather than commission a brand new portrait and unit type when Minister Hylas already has an extremely high-quality portrait? It would also give his ...

Re: Mainline Campaign Design [1.20 and beyond]
"Landar-Kalenz being closer" -> imply possibility that they would like to be together, or interpretable as close friendship, either way up to your interpretation. Branching is a good thing and something Dalas proposed for HttT rework which, if successful, would be adding an extraordinary a...
