Re: Saurian sprites
Is it a fixed 1 tile movement in the opposite direction of the target after an attack, or the ability to use leftover movement points after an engagement? Either way, it does seem like it could fit a skirmisher upgrade, but I'm a bit worried about adding too much bonuses at once - first strike combi...

Re: Saurian sprites
New sprite for the current Spearwoman unit that you can find in 1.16 Saurian Pack. Doofus said the sprite has to be redesigned for a chance to make it into the mainline, so that's basically the new look. The goal was to add a more versatile upgrade for the skirmisher tree, so that they can be more u...

Re: New saurian units
I'm attaching a complete set of SE animations for the new Seer sprite ( seer-se.zip ). I ended up scraping the inverted tail placement to speed up animating process and for consistency with NE pose. Please verify if anything needs adjustments. seer-se-bob.gif seer-se.zip Also, just to confirm, this ...

Re: Saurian sprites
The problem with many UMC saurians is that they were created by editing animation frames of the existing sprites while they're in motion. I think these guys were based on the skirmisher's defend frame, and that's why they look off. If you're looking for sprites to animate, I'd suggest taking on ones...

Re: Saurian sprites
I have a script that allows to quickly recolor saurians, if that's what you'd like to do. Here's a pack with purple (arcane) and red (fire) saurians that I've made as an example. I had this idea of creating a campaign where you have to unite various saurian tribes, but it's not playable yet.

Re: Saurian sprites
I've attached the WIP animations in a recent post, I haven't touched the unit since. I'm the in process of animating units for a pull request to core, but admittedly it's going pretty slow (busy and out of practice).

Re: New saurian units
Yeah, a slight change in pose would help. These saurians do move around a lot, so maybe differentiation can be found in the standing animations as well. I've changed the tail to face downwards. I will also adjust the idle animations. Defend, magic and melee frames will also likely require some chan...

Re: New saurian units
- The prophet is good as is. The color and hat make it different enough, though maybe the staff could be a little gaudier. I've used the Flanker's palette for the weapon: golden base, silver tip. Both staves that I've proposed were supposed to match Flanker's general style, since it's the only leve...

Re: Saurian sprites
It's OK, I'm mostly reusing and adapting Augur animations. I quite like the hand raise animation. Here's what I've got so far. I don't think the spikes are necessary (see the Augur front sprite), I just want to make the poncho more cloth-like. Has there been any progress on this? I'd love to have t...

Re: Saurian portraits (wip)
Very nice! My only note would be that the saurians seem to have only 3 fingers, and the skirmisher is munching on a worm in its iconic idle animations, so perhaps it would be nice to replace the fish with a worm. The overall proportions seem OK to my untrained eye.

Re: Saurian portraits (wip)
I agree that the old ambusher isn't very good, but I quite like how the skirmisher and augur seem so inconspicuous. I wouldn't mind seeing a revamped augur illustration with a similar pose. But yeah, the sketches look more promising than the mainline illustrations, past or present.

Re: Saurian portraits (wip)
Very nice! I like where this is headed. And I agree with Hunter, it's a shame that many saurian units are missing portraits, and the ones that are available are basically in a different style. By the way, I've always liked the old saurian illustrations. Their style does not fit the mainline very wel...

Re: Saurian sprites
I'm using an official STANDING_ANIM_DIRECTIONAL_6_FRAME macro to define the idle frames, the same one that the mainline Saurians are using. Not sure if I can do anything about it, but you can try asking on the Discord if it's expected behavior. If you do have a fix for this, feel free to contribute ...
