Re: Wesnoth 1.14 on Android - app gone
The app disappeared from google play. It was there earlier today, but now it's just gone. Anyone know anything about this?

Question regarding latest security-related news
I'm sure by now most people here have heard about the Log4Shell vulnerability. Please note that I'm not a tech-savvy person (part of the reason why I'm asking this). I know this primarily affects Java based apps and services, as well as anything using the Log4j utility. What i want to know is, is an...

Re: A Song of Fire: SP Campaign Feedback and Reviews
Some maps accidentally use version 1.15 terrain codes. See above for quick fix.

Re: A Song of Fire: SP Campaign Feedback and Reviews
this is easily fixable by just commenting out the {~add-ons/War_of_Legends/units/elves-south} line in the _main.cfg . Since that is a non-existent directory of unit files. However, there may be more follow-up errors like this. Sounds more like they didn't download War of Legends which is required t...

Re: Grand Portrait List - 2020 update
I don't understand why these mentions have been erased, probably to keep eventual curious users to write a prequel to the main storyline, which starts with TRoW. At least the references to the Rod of Justice, at the words of both Camerin and Abhai, are still mainline. Like that's going to stop anyo...

Re: Message to Wesnoth community
I could not be more of an outsider to this discussion, so it's not my place to give anybody advice here. That being said, the described behavior is very much familiar to me, as are certain personal accounts on this thread. I probably wouldn't be able to be this charitable, if I had a say in the matt...

Re: Grand Portrait List - 2020 update
Hamel is a respected, middle-aged king of dwarves with reddish hair and beard. His design should be based on the Dwarvish Lord's sprite. Hamel already has a portrait in The Hammer of Thursagan. That one has him sitting on a throne, but it could be used as a basis. Elenia is a young and pretty elf w...

Re: How is the in-game editor used?
For example, many games that have editors use scripting tools that allow users to make scripts from pre made elements that are easy to learn and require little to no knowledge of coding. An editor that works like that is inevitably used by much more people than one that needs manual scripting. I'm ...

Re: How is the in-game editor used?
Then, for features that aren't being used, the first question should be "is this worth keeping in the first place?", and if it is, figuring out how to make it better is the next step. It doesn't make sense to spend time working on a feature that isn't going to be used regardless. No, beca...

Re: How is the in-game editor used?
If of course you don't want to make it more user friendly, but just improve features for experienced users: ignore my post. Right now I'm primarily focused on the even simpler question of just " do people even use it?". Which at least as of right now is leaning very heavily towards "...

Re: Knalgan Outlaws' Masks versus Dwarven Taboo
Stupid question but aren't the outlaws in the knalgan faction just stand-ins for northern humans? Besides, historically alliances were less about two groups liking each other and more about two groups recognizing the tactical advantage or letting somebody else risk their life fighting your enemy. Ta...

Re: Mainline and UMC lore
- The War of the Jewel tells a story from the old continent where the ruby of fire plays a significant role. It's set long before the mainline wesnoth campaigns. I don't think these two campaigns collide with each other (however, WotJ is part of a bigger trilogy, the Dragon Trilogy, and other campa...

Re: What does these words (tree-shagger, wose-spawned, wose-born) mean?
So an orcish leader might say, "Mog, those woods are filled with bow-using leaf-lovers! I saw a cowardly, ambushing ranger lurking near the pine trees. Summon the goblin horde, Mog! The forest freaks are doomed!" And so forth. Actually, orcs don't need clever insults, as the word "el...

Re: LordBob's random stuff : Nagas and more
I don't think the scars fit them at all. Fencers are supposed to be nobility, and the whole battle-hardened badass theme just doesn't fit them at all. Also, while getting injured during duels is inevitable, historically, duels have been faught till someone draws blood. Facial scars aren't something ...
