The game tips even say: elves strong in forests, dwarves strong in caves and mountains... But the in-game reality is that dwarves are only slightly stronger in caves than other units, if they even are... And on mountains a few of them have 70%, the rest has 60 or 50%... While ALL of elves have 60%.....

The way Wesnoth is written and the way the API works requires scenarios. Some UMC authors have been creative on how to move from one to another, like in Strange Legacy, but you always need to be in one. And where's the problem? What you are describing is a completely different game. Not completely different, but much better. It would still be wesnoth, but not as boring... This is not a mode that can be tacked on to Wesnoth. It would require rewriting huge sections of the code to make something that works that differently....

Is there a way to skip directly to the current turn?
