Since when did Trolls match the majority of units? Biggerism is not really a danger here, since Trolls are supposed to be some of the largest creatures in Wesnoth with only Woses, some Monsters, and maybe Drakes being larger. Changing Trolls will not cause other units to need to be drawn larger, since they are (nearly) at the top of the scale.Thrawn wrote:they aren't the same thing? I think that as long as the biggerism makes everything big, thats a dev choice, but otherwise they should be made to match the majority of units.
Neo, please also redo the Troll hero units while you are in a Trollish mood.
Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.

Very very nice, as is common of Neorice's excellent work.
Whenever you have time you can animate them, and then we will add them.
If you feel up to it, you can even give them attack animations, death animations, and movement animations, which will make them some of the finest units in Wesnoth.

You're just asking me to turn them into actual speedos by saying that you knowRanger M wrote:Why does the level three unit have shakels? It seems a bit random for him to be tied up when he is that strong .
and it might just be me, but those loincloths look a bit like speedos to me (and probably other people too), could they be made more 'raggy' so that they look a bit less tight
Signature dropped due to use of img tag
Just don't make them too sexy... you know, young people are playing as well...

Looks like I am going to have to go against the grain when I say that I don't like them.
I usually like Neorice's work, but this time...nope.
- - The colour is off.
- The hanging heads make them all look like they are attending a funeral.
- They look more human then the old ones.
- They appear to be wearing pink thongs (or rather, T-colour thongs).
- The warrior is shackled.

I think these look great, although I have the same minor objections as many other here:
- A bit to saturated
- Thongs look out of place
- Whats with the shackles?
- The head on the whelp is to big
Even though I'm no good at doing units I tried a quick edit to illustrate the direction I would like to see them go.

I prefer freim's desaturated Trolls - bright green looks a bit too gaudy, while darker green gives a more "monstrous" feel, which increases perceived size.
I also rather dislike their heads, and the way they hold their heads - they don't seem "hunchbacked" as much as they seem to be looking at their feet. Other than that, everything is up to the usually high Neo standard.

Freim's desaturated trolls do look better. These new trolls are a big change, but I suppose it's about time.
