Re: Orc Portrait Series
Is that alternative leader portrait going to be Kapou'e 2.0?

Re: Orc Portrait Series
Probably not, no. Kapou'e already has portraits, and replacing them would lead to a mismatch within the campaign with all the other portraits in the campaign. If LB wanted to replace the lot, I wouldn't object to the idea, but I think there are campaigns in much greater need of portraits.

Re: Orc Portrait Series
Could it be the knuckles? I would think, if you're grasping an object that is flat and thin, that your lower knuckles would line up with the rest of your hand, not wrap around. Example: http://www.elftown.com/stuff/z/1/hand%2 ... 010018.jpgLordBob wrote:Something about the sovereign's sword arm bothers me, but I can't define it. Am I the only one getting that feeling ? Maybe it's only a trick of an unsual point of view, but I'd rather be sure.

Re: Orc Portrait Series
TSI nailed it : 'twas a matter of forearm length. I slightly lowered the scales of his vambrace and it feels just right, now. Thanks man

Re: Orc Portrait Series
Fist off, these are great, those images oose with orcishness.
Looking at the leader, the sword in his left hand looks slightly curved. The pommel matches perspective with the crossguard, but the handle seems to curve around and confuses my eyes.
Also if you compare both the blades as you see them from tip to bottom, they are the same length. Following the angle from the hilt of his left sword and his left hand, the blade should be longer. I suppose making the blade look longer and in perspective is a matter of shading.
The sovereign's left arm looks longer than his right the armour also looks smaller on his right arm.

Re: Orc Portrait Series
I think the sovereign is my favorite portrait orcish portrait.
I would expect the orcs to have mismatched weapons and armor, but his right arm does look a little too skinny compared to his left. It wasn't as noticeable in the line work, and isn't a huge problem in any case.Frogger5 wrote:The sovereign's left arm looks longer than his right the armour also looks smaller on his right arm.

And final sovereign.
Both can be committed, unless any major fsck up is spotted.

The sovereign is one of my favorites you've done... excellent!
Are those two arrow holes in his right breast plate?

One would presume so. He had to get it off the ...looks to be a Heavy infantryman... he stole it off somehow.

Re: Orc Portrait Series
TSI's got it right. Orc shopping's kinda tough
Anyway, here comes the last portrait of the series : the alternate leader, complete with bare head and greasy hair
Once he's comitted, can a mod please move the thread to Art Dev ?

Re: Orc Portrait Series
Just a quickie: I thought we weren't going with tusks protruding over lips for the orcs...
Otherwise, looks cool. Shall i wire him in as the Ruler, or as a leader alt? it would be cool to have one for each level.

Re: Orc Portrait Series
Doh, this one tusk slipped through unnoticed
Let's leave it this way and say he's the only one with faulty teeth
We can wire him as ruler, but then will he be different enough from the leader ? I doubt so. If anything, I'd rather pick the bare-headed one as L1 and the one wearing the fearsome mask as L2. Do as you see fit.
