[Historical] Heir to the Throne: Finished!

Post by Dave »

I have finally finished off the scenarios for Heir to the Throne.

There is still some balancing work to be done, of course, new images to be drawn, etc, but the campaign does now play all the way to the end, with a complete storyline, and without this "You have reached the end of the currently playable scenarios" stuff.

It's now in CVS HEAD :)

I suspect replies to this post may have spoilers, so read on in this thread at your own risk if you haven't finished HttT yet!

WARNING: SPOILER

I wouldn't have it where Konrad is not really part of the royal family.

Actually that was the first thing that came to my mind in the Elven Council, so I finished with all my 'feeling cheated' before I really knew. :P

HTTT may be "finished", but it still could use some work, right?

Attached is Crossroads with randomized ambushes.

In this thread, I have proposed some replacement/addition scenarios for Valley of Statues.

I'd like your opinion on these things, Dave.

Sure; it's still going to be worked on alot to balance things out and make it more fun.

Cool :)

I've added that to CVS.

Yeah I'm still in the process of reviewing other contributed scenarios. Although I do like Valley of Statues, and I think most users do too, so I think that'll stay.

Oops, I forgot to clear two of the variables. There should be

Code: Select all

		{CLEAR_VARIABLE last_possibility}
		{CLEAR_VARIABLE random_string}
at the end of the start event I added. Attaching the fixed version in case it helps.

Also, another comment: The number of ambushes may need to be tweaked if the fixed-location ambushes weren't evenly distributed. I created the same number of ambushes in random positions on the hills. For example, if a lot of the ambushes were near the road before, then there will appear to be fewer ambushes now (assuming people tend to stay near the road).

Final scenario - enemy scout bug in AI?

Post by Ewan »

Just fighting through the final scenario, and the enemy 'scout' commander (in yellow) is behaving very oddly - his forces have not moved more than one hex from castle. Is this because there are no villages owned by my side to aim for? Whatever the reason, the cav is not coming to anyone's rescue :).

What i meant was i don't understand why cockatrices were in the valley in the first place. Can we have some background? :)

They're under the control of the mages, I believe.
