I'm pretty sure that's Orcish.Midnight_Carnival wrote:I had an (Orcish?) archer (or some ranged unit, can't remember which) who went through a whole battle without a single arrow he fired hitting anything. His he died just as I won the battle, his name was "Rong".
I'm not really around any more, but you can find me in TvTropes.

I know I commit necromancy of the worst kind, but....
...I have seen a cavalry called "Tin". He obviously really likes his armour.

After far too long an absence, I have returned.
According to the quiz 100% Silver Mage (85% Archmage, 75% Shyde, 67% Flameheart and Ancient Wose,58% Assassin, Troll Warrior and Berserker). And my top score is exactly how I see myself.

Re: Funny units names
The name generator certainly does not generate normal names… I've had Lolman the Wose once, too *Dunno wrote:Lolman the Wose
just thought it's a funny name for a unit (it was generated by game, I didn't change it!)

I once got a wose called "Bumbumdabum." Drums?
He who is still learning WML, can still make a campaign. (or at least try)
You are an Arch Mage - You're definitely intelligent, but some people would say you spend too much time inside. The power you have learned, however, is simply unmatched.

I had an elf Captin named Isan (say it out loud). I'm sure he can be trusted.

In my last playthrough of The Rise of Wesnoth, the random number generator seemed to favor male magi, as of all magi I've recruited during the whole campaign, only two were female. Both had memorable names: one was named Jovyan, which is only one letter removed from the name os TRoW's main villain (Jevyan). The other was named Lwra. My native language (Czech) is capable of words with no vowels, but I'm still not sure how I would pronounce Lwra. (Maybe Wesnothian spelling of Laura? )
My first campaign:
Inky's Quest - the Cuttlefish Campaign

Re: Funny units names
Probably the Welsh way, which I believe would be something like "Loura" (given that Loyalists seem to use names from the British Isles primarily). Compare cwm (Welsh)/coombe (English), an archaic word for a sort of valley.Telchin wrote:In my last playthrough of The Rise of Wesnoth, the random number generator seemed to favor male magi, as of all magi I've recruited during the whole campaign, only two were female. Sooo...
Just now, I play a game in which I have a Vampire Blood Apprentice (EoM) called... "Bla".
Obviously due to the monologs he holds to his unfortunate victims.

Re: Funny units names
well, since it's not me who dug up this thread...
This one's the funniest if you're polish. Buc (pronounced butz) is a polish swearword for someone cocky, arrogant and generally mean. I didn't check his name when he leveled, and now I have a noble paladin called buc.
btw, I updated the list on the first page, and I lol'd when I read it again. That's some good stuff there

Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?
