Re: A War of Life and Death
Hi!
I started to play your campaign in challenge difficult and I noticed gold advanced or earned in one scenario is not carried over to the next scenario.
Looking at the code and I saw that into the [endlevel] tag is missing carryover_add=yes

Thanks for alerting me of the issue. It should now be fixed. I admit, I thought the carryover_add=yes was the default within the [endlevel] tag and so did not need to be included. Apparently not.
Side note: the difficult difficulty level is the least tested, so if you encounter any balance issues I would greatly appreciate if you let me know.

Re: A War of Life and Death
Hi!
I played the first eight scenarios of the campaign in the difficult difficulty, and, in my opinion, at least the scenarios A Potential Ally and Trial by Fire they are far too easy.
If I can give one suggestion, in A Potential Ally it might be interesting to get some gold to the enemy leader when the elves get too close, or something similiar.
Also I would suggest to set the bonus to yes; otherwise, the paradox could arise that, in order to earn as much money as possible, the human player protects enemy leaders from allies, so that the last enemy leader is defeated as late as possible.
I hope I was helpful.

Thanks for the feedback! I will take measures to increase difficulty on the scenarios you highlighted. I think your suggestion has merit, indeed I was considering something similar, I will look to introduce it soon. As for the bonus, I was worried that on some of the scenarios where I give a generous turn limit so that people can explore the map, the bonus will be too large and would throw off the balance for the next scenario. Alas, I will take measures to fix this.
Feel free to let me know if you find any issues in the future. I always appreciate any comments.

Re: A War of Life and Death
I got this error message at the start of the scenario Road of Peril. I got the same message at the start of Pursued as well.
Roads of Peril:
- All enemies got wrecked by turn 17. Had to wait for a few turns to finish this scenario.
- It's possible to build a gold surplus if I have enough villages.

Thanks for letting me know of the issue. It should now be resolved. As for the difficulty, I have reworked scenarios 14 and 15 to make it more challenging, and more balancing updates are planned. The bonus is now also in place for Road of Peril.
If you encounter any more bugs or balancing problems I would love to be alerted.

Can you please adjust the starting position and the trigger of the third caravan? He sort of exposes himself, away from his escorts and then gets himself killed.

I have just released an update that should adjust the distance between the caravan and the trigger area that should help make sure it is not caught out of position too early. Although part of the issue you experienced might be because the unit you moved to trigger the event landed on the tile that the caravan was supposed to land on. This would force the caravan to spawn a couple tiles away instead.
Regardless, the issue should be ameliorated. Thanks for letting me know of the problem, and feel free to continue to do so in the future.

There should be an elvish village on 22,22 because there was one in the previous scenario.

War of Life and Death
version 1.14.5
Normal
A couple of posts call for making the campaign more difficult. That's fine for the difficult level. I am playing the easy (normal) level and while I find it challenging as it is, although not difficult so far. I suggest this level not be made harder since there are players who would have a struggle to win this.

When I get close to the enemy leader, he says something about calling up the reserve trolls. Which somehow results into my ally getting gold. I'd wager that you have a typo in your event.
mind raid
Mind raid takes 2*4 xp away? Why not 8 xp?
audiance -> audience
S6
I'd recommend moving all of the player units along with Ardonath.
It's not that hard to explain why the knight came from the south with a report from the north. One of the possible reasons would be that this place is not approachable from the north.
S7

S8

wreaking -> wrecking

a Undead invasion -> an Undead invasion
rediculous -> ridiculous
S9

S10

undoutedly -> undoubtedly
comerades -> comrades
dire straights -> dire straits
seperated -> separated
That ring the Lich was wearing supposedly grants '65% arcane resistance to arcane damage'.
1) Why didn't that ring affect the Lich? He had -40% arcane res.
2) Why does it increase Ardonaths arcane res to 35%? He had previously -10%, so that's an increase of 45%.
One of the drakes standing guard has a silver crown. Why?
S11
convereged -> converged
delt -> dealt
imprisonned -> imprisoned
Drake Talon seems to be missing an image for his ranged attack. (He disappears when he uses it.)
cuased -> caused
S12
delt -> dealt
viscious -> vicious
are hear to -> are here to
Reaver seems to be missing an AMLA macro.

Re: A War of Life and Death
Thanks for pointing all of these out. All the typos should now be fixed.
I merely borrowed the elvish prince unit from Reign of the Lords and modified the unit template. I am afraid I don't know how to do animations so am afraid it shall have to stay the way it is for now.
Good catch. Should now be implemented.
Don't you know? Elves have excellent fire safety skills and protocol. They have water buckets at the ready near by, behind some trees. And Chantal will put them out after they leave. Besides, the cold weather should stop any wildfire in its tracks.
Come on, give me this one.

But only one you control. The defeat condition only applies to Ardonath's keep. Protecting Sorendar's keep is optional.
As I believe Konrad2 points out, it is not possible to approach from the north. The scenario is located at the Dwarven Doors, which is located on the southern edge of a large mountain range and only reachable from the north through the dwarven caves. So for a human messenger to reach it on horseback from the northern fortress would require a detour to the south.

Yep. Fixed it now.
Don't know, I wondered that myself. That is part of The_Gnat's code. Seeing as it does not change anything I left it as it is.
Ehh. Since the dwarves were only guides I left them behind since they would have nothing to report. As for the reason the knight comes from the south you got it in one.
The ring now affects the Lich. As for Ardonath's use of it, the ring replaces the previous resistance value instead of adding to it. So his resistance should be 65%. I tested it and realized the game rounds down to the nearest tenth so what I got what a resistance of 60%. The ring's value has been changed accordingly and now states it shall give the wearer 60% resistance to arcane attacks. I don't know how you got a resistance of 35%.Konrad2 wrote: ↑September 5th, 2020, 5:50 pm That ring the Lich was wearing supposedly grants '65% arcane resistance to arcane damage'.

Minor bug, should now be fixed.
Hmm. Again, I don't know how to do animations but I will look to fix that in the next update.
Yeah you're right. Fixed it.
