New Windows Binary

Post by Dave »

Slainte has been kind enough to compile a Windows binary of the current CVS snapshot. It can be found in Wiki at http://www.ventu.info/wesnoth/?WesnothBinaries

It should be pretty close to 0.4.8 RC2, so people can use it for testing purposes!

Possible Cause

Hello,

Just an idea... do you have the sdl_image and sdl_mixer libraries installed? These have been required for later but not earlier versions. Like I said an idea, as I stopped playing on the Windows version when I could play the Mac OS X one :D

Ops sorry for that... I must have dropped jpeg.dll from the zip :(

This dll is the base library distributed in http://www.libsdl.org with sdl_image precompiled windows binary distrib... anyway I am uploading it to the site here

I will compile a new version with the latest RC and add this dll to the package

Thank you slainte for this version.

Unfortunately, it seems that the french translation included in this version is totaly out of date.
I've sent many day ago a French.cfg file to Dave (for version 0.4.7), but I don't know if it was included in the cvs.

Guillaume,

This is entirely my fault, and I apologize. The newest French version has now been committed to CVS.

I have updated the version to 0.4.8 RC3...

known problems:

Seems the app cannot run in full-screen mode due to a SDL issue concerning SDL_HWSURFACE | SDL_DOUBLEBUF... I could only run on full_screen with a SDL_SWSURFACE... I am looking into the subject to see what can be done... keep an eye for future fixes... major problem is you cannot scroll verticallly (specially down) without keyb. control...
